There was a commercial when I was growing up, “Friends Don’t Let Friends Drive Drunk”. A great idea and it really registered for me. One of my friends noticed that mouthwash had a very high alcohol content so he began his own campaign of “Friends Don’t Let Friends Drive With Fresh Breath”.
Google has added a feature that allows you (when sober) to define times that you should
be extra careful about sending email. As the
Gmail blog says “what better way to check than by making you solve a few simple math problems after you click send to verify you’re in the right state of mind?”
The “Mail Goggles” are only active late night on the weekend by default, since that is when most bad mail apparently is sent.
Once activated you can adjust when it’s active in the General settings, a great help for daytime drinkers.
Years back I was running a beta version of Outlook, and I found a bug. Outlook emailed your last saved copy and not the email as you had typed.
When I had a bad mail come in and needed my manager to fix something I clicked reply and left I note to myself “unfuck this” and saved. Later, and calmer, I wrote a nice mail to my manager tellinging him I needed his hel in fixing an issue and clicked send WITHOUT having clicked save. Outlook sent the last saved version of my mail.
Later that day I got the reply from my boss that the issue was resolved and that, in the future, I should be more careful with how I asked for his help. I saw the mail he received – “unfuck this”.
Well, he was a good manager and probably thought I needed Mail Goggles.
Google has added a great feature to their email system.

i almost killed my computer because of this confounded thing, lol
That is very helpful, now they just need to add it to cellphones..
I personally have been very excited about the new colored layouts at gmail, I was getting sick of the white only background.
Gmail has been a big change for the positive, ever since I’ve switched to them my spam has almost disappeared.

I like Google’s new emailing system. All SPAMS are easy to handle now.
